strategies to slow the progression of type 2 diabetes. Current research
regarding the preservation of pancreatic ß-cell function will be discussed. In addition, the link between endothelial dysfunction and hyperglycemia will be explored, and steps required to adjust therapy as the disease progresses will be reviewed.
